Born in Bavaria, Germany, Monika started to travel early in her life. Even as a small girl of five on the banks of the North Sea in Northern Germany she ached for foreign countries and decided to make them her vocation for life. And she stuck to it!

After her studies in American Studies, social and economic history as well as anthropology in Germany she spent one year in Canada doing research on a field study. This got her hooked on Canada which she continues to love today and which made her start her first job as a tour director, taking tourists to every imaginable corner of the country. After a while she widened the range of her travels to other countries and continents and ended up touring North and Central America, Australia, Africa and Europe.

Having travelled extensively to countries like Canada, the United States including Alaska, Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras, to the South of Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and more), Australia as well as to Ireland, Great Britain and continental Europe as a tour director for nearly 17 years she started her own travel information portal TravelWorldOnline in 2001 to publish articles on these countries. She has published articles in other online travel portals and is writing travel articles for several press archives. In addition she is publishing travel information portals like USA Attraktion , Campgrounds USA, Skireisen USA, and Ausflugsziel Schweiz. And she is active in the blogosphere and in several Web.2 forums and groups.
